Girl with a Pearl Earring and a Golf Club

At the top of her swing, a girl with a pearl earring turns to meet the viewer's gaze on a cobbled harbour street at dusk, tall ships and lantern light behind her.

Her braid and lace scarf whip through the air as mud scatters from the wet stones. A startled squirrel and women watching from a doorway of another century witness a moment of focus that belongs entirely to her.
